Maybe someone else can provide input on how well those work with a controller (or I can try them out later today). There's probably quite a few others that I'm forgetting, but those are some that come to mind.ĮDIT: A few more that I haven't tested but which I would expect should work fairly well: Stardew Valley, Graveyard Keeper, and Subnautica. For less story-based action, you could try Hand of Fate and Hand of Fate 2. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor may also be worth a look. The Tomb Raider reboots ( Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider) are also good, although I haven't tested them with the controller so not sure how well they control (I'd assume well since they were made for console).
Mad Max is also quite fun but can put a strain on your computer depending on which model you have. Cuphead is also a good choice for 2D sidescroller.įor action games, Batman: Arkham City is quite good ( Arkham Asylum too, but that's 32-bit only). I would suggest Guacamelee, but that doesn't have 64-bit support last I checked, so if you're on Catalina you may want to give that a pass. I've played most of those with an Xbox 360 controller and they all work fairly well. If you like the mechanics you will enjoy yourself, but if you want to feel like you are involved in the fight look elsewhere.For 2D platformers/Metroidvanias, you have games like Shovel Knight, Owlboy, Apotheon, Headlander, etc. MARVEL Avengers Academy is the opposite of most comic book games: the action is only spoken, and all of your interactions are based around a few clicks. Put simply, it’s fun to play with youthful version of your favorite characters from the Marvel Universe. If you don’t go in expecting action, MARVEL Avengers Academy is a successful game thanks to its framework and setting. In fact, all it really adds to the formula are the comic book heroes. MARVEL Avengers Academy’s game system will look familiar if you've previously played any game that combines construction and resource management. Missions play out automatically, and only really serve to gather you more resources to charge superpowers – think The Simpsons: Tapped Out, but swap Homer and Lisa for Iron Man and Captain America. Do not get too excited though: this is no action game like MARVEL Heroes. You then train them up and send them on missions based on the Marvel movies. The adventure game elements of MARVEL Avengers Academy have you recruit heroes.
